“Why can’t I try on different lives, like dresses, to see which fits best and is most becoming?” —Sylvia Plath (via sylviaplathjournal) (via roseandraisins) (via ohbrightstar) (via dailyloveliness) (I very much agree)

“Her romantic mind was like the tiny boxes, one within the other, that come from the puzzling East, however many you discover there is always one more; and her sweet mocking mouth had one kiss on it that Wendy could never get, though there it was, perfectly conspicuous in the right-hand corner.” —Peter Pan and Wendy by J. M. Barrie (via diamondnight)

how has your week been, dear one? xxxxxx

It has been pleasant, I’ve purchased a beautiful TBA coat with a velvet collar and pockets for half of it’s price and I have thoroughly enjoyed the (rare) sunny weather we’ve been having in dear old London. Have still felt somewhat forlorn and restless at times, and so many tumblrs have disappeared (pinpricks, bunnymitford and now weepingclouds). I very much wish you a lovely weekend, anon xox

“It wasn’t only wickedness and scheming that made people unhappy, it was confusion and misunderstanding; above all, it was the failure to grasp the simple truth that other people are as real as you.” —Ian McEwan Atonement, 2001 (via screamingswans)
